David Molesky was born in 1977 and raised in Washington, D.C. He began oil painting at age 14 after doing black and white photography for several years. In 1995, he moved to the west coast and graduated from UC Berkeley in 1999 with a BA in Art Practice and Pre-med with an emphasis in Neurobiology. Currently he maintains a studio on Market Street in San Francisco. He has shown his work nationally and internationally and is represented locally by the Winfield Gallery in Carmel and by Terrence Rogers Fine Art in Santa Monica. His work predominantly depicts natural elements such as rocks, water, sky, and clouds and sometimes figures. Although he lived on the Monterey Peninsula only from 2003-2006, his work continues to derive much inspiration from experiences in this area.
